Ok, now we start on the list of the worst Star Wars games. EVER. And this happens to be one of them.
Published by LucasArts (and I'm assuming it's developed by them too (I couldn't find a developer)), this game takes place prior to the events of the Episode I movie. You control Jedi padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi on his adventures to uncover the mysteries of the Jin'ha. Now, Star Wars games aren't particularly renowned for their awe-inspiring graphics and this game tell you why. Environments are bland and flat, and the voice acting of Obi-Wan laughable. The lightsaber is a nightmare to control, with the right thumstick in charge of your slashing movements. Unfortunately, this stick also controls the camera. Error number 1000. It is impossible to look up or down with this control fixture, and one mission requires you to be able to look down to see where you have to jump. And that was on the third or fourth mission. I stopped playing after that.
The levels are laid out very simply, and the enemies super-hard to kill. You end up taking more damage when trying to deflect blaster bolts and sticks than they do but getting cut by your lightsaber. Some missions you are accompanied by your Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn, and he is useless in fights. You take on the main barrage of enemies while he runs off, doing what the Force only knows. Controlling Obi-Wan is hard, especially when small, subtle movements are needed, and this is incredibly frustrating.
The game has no replayability factor, even in multiplayer or unlocking bonus missions. Who cares? The game is torture to your patience and a friend who plays it will think you have no taste in games what-so-ever.
Good games also require a reasonably good story, but if you can't play through the story without resulting in the death of an innocent controller against a wall you must be a saint. Buy at your peril. Otherwise, avoid like the plague.
