May’s Babe of the Month is Tonya. As our members know, each month we pick a gaming girl and find out a little more about what makes them tick. We do this to show that girls really do game. See the interview and images inside:
Q. When you first found out you were XBF’s Babe of the Month, what did you think? A. “Oh my gosh. If this is more MySpace spam I think I’ll cry.” I was super flattered and excited. I basically called everyone in my phone book like a dork XD
Q. Based on your photos, you’re a big fan of Gears of War. What makes GoW your favorite?
A. The question should be, why isn’t GoW everyone’s favorite! I mean seriously, I’ve never felt so badass in my life as when I’m playin’ Gears and curb stomp my way to MVP. Annnnd it has victory music :]
Q. Who or what got you into gaming in the beginning?
A . Well, there was this fat plumber guy who could put on a raccoon hat and fly around. I used to hang out with him a lot but then I met some little forest kid with a fairy and a slingshot. He pretty much taught me how to PWN. I’ve been addicted ever since. That had to be at least 12 or 13 years ago…
After that, I got this really awesome Sony system and discovered Final Fantasy. It became my life.
Q. Desert Island question - What five games would you "need" to pass the time on a desert island?
A. Gears of War, Final Fantasy X, Guitar Hero 3, Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Kingdom Hearts <3
Q. What do you consider the most influential game of the last decade?
A. I’d have to say Final Fantasy. More specifically, Final Fantasy VII. Not only has the series alone been through over a dozen games and still keeps lines out the door on release dates but FF7 is down right infamous. I mean Cloud promo’s cell phones on Japanese commercials. In its prime, it captivated over nine million gamers and non-gamers alike. It just had its 10 year anniversary and the un-released, rumored remake is the most anticipated PlayStation 3 game yet. Square has got some bragging rights.

Currently, I’m a full time gamer, pretty much have been since I was around 8 (that was 12 years ago). Sometimes, I go to this college thing but since I already have my Phlebotomy/EKG certification it’s not really a necessity.
I enjoy learning and read everything from Halo and Harry Potter to those cheesy romance novels with Fabio on the cover. I write a lot. It’s kind of my hobby, you know…next to saving the world.
I dream of traveling, I guess I’ll write a book about my adventure. I collect little animals. I’m obsessed with Red vs. Blue. My family is my world, Annnd I have the best fiancé ever.
