While we do know Microsoft and the California firm – Gyration are working on some form of new motion-sensing technology for the Xbox brand of consoles, we’re positive the images going around the net are not of the new hardware. See what we mean after the jump:
Below are images of the original motion-sensing prototypes that Gyration had designed for the Wii in 2001. For some reason, misinformed people are posting these images as the “new controller”. Considering Gyrations is rumored to be working on an add-on, not a controller, that should be people’s first clue. Also considering the images have been around for six years, well that should be another clue. All we know about the motion-sensing project is that Microsoft and Gyrations are wotking on the project. Images below are from 2001. They are not new.
Please do not be fooled by these images as they are not the new “rumored” add-on. While we look forward to seeing the new peripheral, these images aren’t it.
