Konami has announced a new partnership with leading UK sports broadcaster Setanta Sports, which will see the sports broadcaster appear prominently within the UK version of Konami’s forthcoming PES 2009 title. Continued:
The agreement with Konami will see Setanta appear on the static advertising perimeter boards within stadiums throughout the game Setanta will also work closely with Konami in the promotion of , the game’s launch and on an ongoing basis and its branding will appear on Konami’s PES Rankings website- the official online league of PES 2009.
The year-long partnership will also see Setanta and Konami working closely together at PES events, launches and competitions. “This is a fantastic coup for Konami to be working with such a respected sports broadcaster,” commented Jon Murphy, PES Team Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “Setanta has rapidly established itself as a leading light in the way football is portrayed, and their expertise and subscriber base will be essential as we look to further expand recognition of the PES series.”

The deal was struck and managed by leading in-game advertising specialist, New Street Media. “This is a truly symbiotic relationship, where the partnership delivers extra value to both parties’ audiences. Successful in-game advertising campaigns need to consider the gamer and add value to the gameplay experience and give something back to the gamer,” said Maryam Bazargan, Managing Director ofNew Street Media.
PES 2009 will be released for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360, PC-DVD, PlayStation 2, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) and mobile phones in Autumn, with a Wii version to follow in Spring 2009.
