Rumors made their way around the web yesterday about the closing of Ensemble, the studio behind Halo Wars. Sadly, these rumors have turned out to be true. There is good news and bad news. More details after the jump. ...

peace out While the studio is closing, the good news is that we'll still be getting Halo Wars before the developer shuts it's doors for good. Below is an official statement.

This was a fiscally-rooted decision that keeps MGS on its growth path. While the decision to dissolve Ensemble was not an easy one, Microsoft is working to place as many Ensemble employees who do not move to the newly formed studio into open positions within Microsoft as possible.

Ensemble Studios is known for its blockbuster “Age of Empires” and “Age of Mythology” game series, which hae sold over 20 million copies. Ensemble Studios was based in Dallas, Texas.

We here at Xbox Family wish all the best to those who aren't moving to the newly formed studio.

That really does suck. I wish them luck. At least they got to work with one of the biggest series out there and create a great rts for the 360.
